First and foremost the website design needs to be thought about in a concise and thorough manner. You need to understand your target demographics when building a website – Their Age, Gender, Buying cues, The product or service you are offering and how this audience will relate to it. Basically when designing a website you need to try and put yourself in the shoes of your customer and ask yourself “what would I want to see” if I were visiting this site.   If you don’t put thought into the website design then you can waste time and money on expensive advertising programs that drive traffic to a website that does not “speak” to your potential audience. In fact your website design may not only miss the mark with this audience but it could also hurt the reputation of your business by coming across as cheap or ‘backyard”. In short your website design is like your online version of a shopfront. Put the same amount of thought into the layout of your website design as you would a physical shopfront. Keep it clean, keep it fresh and make sure it does not become stale and stagnant. After all no one wants to shop in a stale, stagnant out of date shop… do they?
